Tin Tamer - Quality Checks, Physical Proofs, and Card Size Considerations!
Hey Tin Tamers! Quick update from the workshop! We’re currently deep in the quality checking phase for Tin Tamer. As many of you know from our previous post, we’re eagerly (and a little impatiently!) waiting for the physical proof copy to arrive. Holding it in our hands will be a huge step!
Now, while we wait, we’ve been doing a lot of thinking about the player experience. Depending on how the physical proof feels and plays, and considering the unique nature of the Tin Tamer card game, we’re contemplating a potential adjustment. We might explore rerendering our current designs into a bigger card size, perhaps a Poker or Trading Card size.
To be clear, we’d very much like to keep the current ‘mint tin’ size – it’s part of Tin Tamer’s charm and concept! However, if, after testing the physical copy, we find that readability, handling, or the overall game experience would significantly benefit from a larger format, we will seriously consider making that change to ensure the best possible game.
One option we’re mulling over is to potentially retain the current Tin Tamer size for the GameCrafter version (keeping that authentic tin-friendly feel) and perhaps offer a larger card size specifically for the Print-and-Play (PnP) version here on itch.io. This could give you the best of both worlds!
Ultimately, we’re going to play this by ear and adjust accordingly. Once the physical proof is in our hands and we’ve had a chance to rigorously assess it, we’ll make the call that best serves the game and you, our fantastic community.
Thanks for your continued patience and support as we navigate these final, crucial steps. We’ll keep you posted as soon as the proof arrives and decisions are made!
Stay tuned!
