A little insight on what went into this game.
Hey guys,
So I took a bit of research earlier this week on AIs such as Midjourney and Stable Diffusion because of some comments regarding the art on my previous games and since I've commissioned it to my dear friend Inkgear, I'm not sure about the process on what went into creating the art. But I'm proud of the game design and overall layout that the game turns out.
Anyway, this lead me into designing another game as I research this Ai world and I stumbled upon The games we play in our dreams game jam. Which is a collection of a lot of art generated by Ai and it is to be used as inspiration or part of the game design. I settled on the concept of a one-page RPG that uses dice as ranks.
Why dice? Well, cause I also stumbled upon a lesser dice game jam and wanted to try.
This game was truly inspired by this image. Where the dice were stacked on a few pieces of paper with words. I ran along with this and slowly build the concept of the game with RPG characters, and stats and I tried adding equipment. The end product is this one-page RPG.
To be honest I'm not so sure about how the game would turn out but the final result was really nice and I think I can expand upon this gamebook a bit more in the future. I think there's a potential here for a bigger game and I really wanted to try making. But for now, I'm focusing on this Game Jam that I've hosted here on Itch.io called the https://itch.io/jam/bookmark-microgame-jam.
We invite all levels of game designers from veterans to beginners to give this TTRPG Game Design a try. All you need is to just create a playable game in the form of a bookmark.
